Who we are

Strengthening the practice of ward-level administration.

The Council of Ward Administrators Kenya (COWAK) is a national professional society established to bring together Ward Administrators from all 47 counties of Kenya under one professional umbrella.

COWAK provides a platform for professional networking, policy advocacy, research, capacity development, welfare, financial empowerment and collaboration among Ward Administrators and stakeholders in devolution.

Ward Administration is anchored in the Constitution of Kenya, 2010; the County Governments Act, 2012, including Sections 49, 50 and 51; and other relevant laws and county legislation.
